Accessibility advice for the proposed office fit out for an Irish Disability Organisation
In June 2013, O’Herlihy Access Consultancy (OHAC) was engaged by a national disability organisation to provide accessibility advice in relation to their new office development in Dublin. OHAC acted as access advisors for the project and some of the services we provided included:
- Providing the client with a walk and talk audit/route appraisal and discussed the main positive and negative accessibility features in place within the existing office.
- Carrying out a design appraisal and audit of the proposed works including the main approach and car park leading to the office, entrances; circulation around the building; WC facilities; Staff facilities; Lighting; Signage; Visual contrast and aids to communication.
- Liaising with the architect and client and advising them on latest best practice in relation to accessibility design and how to ensure accessibility is embedded into the overall day to day management of the building.
- On-site meetings to discuss access issues.
This project was carried out between June and September 2013.
