Accessible art tours in Dublin

National and local museums are incorporating accessibility and Universal Design to make art accessible to a broad range of users. Some accessible art tours in Dublin are organised by the following museums:

Chester Beatty – The Chester Beatty offers tours that are designed for people living with dementia  and includes their carers. The tours are delivered by staff that have received accessibility training. There are other different services provided for people with different needs. Irish Museum of Modern Art - The Museum has a free guided tour specially designed to people living with dementia and includes their carers the first Friday of every month. For more information regarding the next tours, click here.

National Gallery of Ireland – The Gallery offers workshops and tours considering the needs of a broad range of users such as, people with dementia, children who struggle with sensory environments and people with visual and hearing impairments. They also have different resources and services available for users who might have other needs. RHA Gallery – The Gallery delivers tours for persons with visual impairments and is led by artist and musician Emilie Conway. Visitors must book in advance and inform the gallery about their requirements.  For more information, click here.
