Astute develops the world’s first fully accessible self-service chatbot

Astute Bot is a digital customer self-service chatbot that is used by some of the world’s largest Business-to-Consumer (B2C) companies. Ilumino, a vendor certified by the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) assisted Astute to ensure that their new chatbot adheres to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 Level A), EN 301 549 and Section 508 Standards.

According to Ilumino’s Co-Founder, Jenna Reardon, the partnership with Astute was driven by a mutual goal to provide barrier-free products that enhances user interaction and increase conversations. They believe that everyone deserves an equal digital experience.

Forrester, an American research company, found that 71% of shoppers with disabilities will leave a website if it is too difficult to use. The new chatbot allows Astute’s customers to make their own websites, apps, and mobile platforms digitally accessible when communicating with their consumers.

Astute is also planning to upgrade their Astute Agent in the near future which will make their software accessible for their customers’ employees with disabilitites.
