World Alzheimer Report 2020 - Design, Dignity, Dementia: dementia-related design and the built environment
Each year, Alzheimer’s Disease International commission a World Alzheimer’s Report which provide a comprehensive source of global socioeconomic information on dementia. These Annual Reports each focus on a different topic, and topics of previous years’ reports include: ‘The Global Impact of Dementia’, ‘Early Diagnosis and Prevention’ and ‘Overcoming Stigma’. This year’s Report is entitled ‘Design, Dignity, Dementia: dementia-related design and the built environment’.
The Report, published in two volumes, takes an in depth look at dementia related design and the built environment, including day care centres, residential care centres, public buildings, and spaces and hospitals. The report also incorporates 84 Case Studies from 27 countries providing a global perspective on the different approaches to dementia related design.
