Improving Access to Library Services - One Day Course
About the Programme
In order to provide equal opportunities for all library users, it is necessary to understand how customers and staff use the services. This unique programme highlights the key services required to ensure all libraries services are accessible. This workshop explores a number of areas including customer services, information provision, built environment accessibility, library programmes and communications.
Aim
This course aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to ensure that their library services are accessible and to increase their awareness on how to continuously improve the accessibility of their organisation.

Key Outcomes
Upon completion of this programme, participants will have:
- Increased awareness of best accessibility practice in three key areas of customer services, the built environment and information provision;
- Increased awareness on disability equality issues among participants;

- A better understanding of the proofing process and their role in the action planning process.
