Julia works as a Senior Access Advisor in the Design Team. She obtained her a bachelor’s degree in architecture and urban planning (2013) and a master’s degree in Civil Engineering (2018) from Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos, Brazil. With over ten years of experience, she has focused on accessibility since 2014. She has been an Access Advisor at OHAC since October 2021. She is a member of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP).
Julia’s work in accessibility includes projects of bank branches and public buildings in Brazil. Since joining OHAC as an Access Advisor, she prepares Disability Access
Certificates, reviews design to include accessibility from the start, and also conducts access audits and reports for existing buildings. She ensures clients follow relevant regulations and best practices throughout the design process.
Julia has a particular interest in architectural heritage and Universal Design, and she has developed extensive experience and knowledge of accessible buildings and spaces throughout her career. She has worked on a wide variety of projects including private and public buildings, heritage sites, healthcare facilities, residential offices student accommodations, hotels, museums, retail, mixed use developments, and public realm. Her work ensures these projects meet high standards of accessibility and Universal Design.
