Douglas joined the OHAC team in 2022 as an Accessibility Technician having received his Civil Engineering Degree from UNIUBE (University of Uberaba) in his home country of Brazil.
Since joining OHAC, Douglas has been continuously expanding his knowledge and experience in accessibility through training and practical application.
Douglas has worked with a variety of design teams and clients with extensive understanding of current Building Regulations, and knowledge of British Standards and National good practices. For the first year at OHAC, Douglas had the chance to work as an Accessibility Technician with the Design Team, applying accessibility in planning applications for new and existing buildings. Douglas now works as a Site Inspector, liaising with stakeholders on how accessibility will be met during construction and following each individual building’s final user intent. He has worked on various projects including apartments, offices, hotels, commercial and mixed-use developments, data centres and student accommodation.
Douglas is always seeking to raise awareness of how important accessibility is and how we can make buildings accessible for all.
