National Brain Awareness Week 2020 – “Love Your Brain”

National Brain Awareness Week 2020 will commence on Monday the 16th of March and run until Sunday the 22nd. To coincide with this week the Neurological Alliance of Ireland, with the support of nearly thirty patient organisations and research groups, has launched their “Love Your Brain” awareness campaign.

“Love Your Brain” aims to promote awareness and improve understanding of the brain and brain conditions while highlighting the need for greater investment in services, research and prevention. The campaign itself consist of four parts:

To help achieve the campaign goals, events have been organised across the country. Events will take on many forms and will cover a wide range of topics such as “Epilepsy Ireland Information & Support Sessions” in Clare Education Centre, “VisABllity Living with a severe Acquired Brain Injury (sABl): An Saol” in DCU Student Hub and an exhibition titled “My Amazing Brain” by Aula Maxima hosted by NUI Galway.

The “Love Your Brain” campaign states that over 800,000 Irish people are living with a neurological condition and is calling for Ireland to provide better support for people living with neurological conditions and to strengthen it’s part in researching brain health and brain disease.
