OHAC’s Autumn 2026 public training programme brings together five practical courses designed to help organisations strengthen accessibility, disability inclusion and Universal Design across their services, workplaces, communications, events and built environments.
The programme includes one, two and three-day courses for professionals working across the public, private, community and voluntary sectors.
Creating Accessible Events Training
2 October 2026 | 10:00 am – 4:00 pm | 1 day
Accessible events start with good planning.
This practical course explores how accessibility can be considered throughout event planning and delivery, including venues, communications, procurement, operations and attendee support.
Participants will learn how to identify and reduce physical, sensory and digital barriers, respond to different access requirements and create more inclusive event experiences.
Recommended for: Event professionals, Marketing and Communications teams, EDI professionals, Facilities and Estates teams, Procurement, Operational staff and senior leaders.

Built Environment Accessibility: Making Buildings Accessible for All
14, 15 & 22 October 2026 | 10:00 am – 4:00 pm | 3 days
Open to Public Sector staff and organisations
This three-day programme provides a practical introduction to accessibility and Universal Design within the built environment.
Participants will develop their understanding of Disability and Equality legislation, Part M, Disability Access Certificates, Universal Design, neurodiversity in building design and access auditing.
The programme combines technical learning with case studies, design appraisals, route appraisals and practical exercises.
Recommended for: Architects, Facilities Managers, Building Control Managers, Planning staff and professionals responsible for buildings and estates.

Making Services Accessible for All
10 & 11 November 2026 | 10:00 am – 4:00 pm | 2 days
How accessible are your organisation’s services and workplace?
This two-day programme helps participants assess accessibility and disability inclusion within their organisation and identify practical opportunities for improvement.
Topics include accessible service delivery, employment, procurement, communications, customer service, the built environment and organisational accessibility strategy.
The course is particularly relevant to professionals responsible for accessible service provision and those seeking to develop their role as an Access Officer.

Beyond Barriers: Mastering Accessible Information for All
17 November 2026 | 10:00 am – 4:00 pm | 1 day
Accessible information supports people to make choices, access services and participate fully in society.
This course explores how organisations can improve written, digital, spoken and signed information using an accessible and Universal Design approach.
Participants will develop their understanding of relevant legislation and good practice while exploring practical approaches to communications, websites, video, marketing, branding and alternative formats.

Setting up your Accessibility Working Group or Employee Resource Group for Success
2 December 2026 | 10:00 am – 4:00 pm | 1 day
Accessibility Working Groups and Employee Resource Groups can play an important role in creating meaningful organisational change.
This course provides AWGs and ERGs with practical tools to advocate for accessible policies, technologies, workplaces and services while strengthening disability inclusion across the organisation.
Participants will explore disability awareness, Universal Design, accessible communication, organisational barriers, good practice and ways to measure and support progress.
