New online training on dementia and planning launched in the UK

The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is the UK's leading planning body for spatial, sustainable and inclusive planning and is the largest planning institute in Europe with over 23,000 members.

The RTPI have recently produced (July 2017) a new online learning tool to help town planners understand their role in creating better environments for people living with dementia.

The RTPI has also published a report entitled “Dementia and Town Planning Creating better environments for people living with dementia” (January 2017). The report gives advice on how good planning can create better environments for people living with dementia. It summarises expert advice, outlines key planning and health policy and highlights good practice case studies. The policy context applies to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the principles of good practice are applicable wherever you work.
