New ANEC leaflet on the proposal for a European Accessibility Act

ANEC is the European consumer voice in standardisation, defending consumer interests in the process of technical standardisation, as well as related legislation and public policies. Part of ANEC’s work is to promote accessibility and to ensure people of all ages and abilities have equal access to products and services.

ANEC has recently issued (July 2016) a new leaflet on the proposal for a European Accessibility Act (EAA), adopted on 2 December 2015. While ANEC welcomes the proposal, as they support the elaboration of legal basis on the accessibility of products and services to be underpinned by standardisation, the aim of the ANEC leaflet is to outline their position and to identify what they are calling for in order to improve the current proposal.
