Accessible Information for All and the Citizens Information Board

The Citizens Information Board has recently updated and re-launched their guidance document entitled “Accessible Information for All - Guidelines on developing accessible information in your organisation”.

These practical guidelines, based on existing best practice, tell you what you should do as a public body to improve the accessibility of your information and meet the requirements of the Disability Act 2005.  The guidelines cover face to face meetings; website accessibility; consultation; alternative formats; promotion of information and carrying out an audit on your information to name a few.  In particular, they offer advice on how to improve your information for people who experience information barriers (i.e people with disabilities; people with literacy difficulties etc.). Further information on the guidelines is available from the Citizens Information Board’s website.
