Hack care - The catalogue with tips to make your home dementia-friendly

Hack care is a new catalogue that provides specific design modifications to IKEA furniture in order to create a dementia friendly home. The catalogue is an independent project initiated by the Lien Foundation with the collaboration of Lekker Architects and Lanzavecchia + Wai.

The guide is designed like a classic IKEA catalogue with sections about different types of household items, how to adapt the different areas of the house for daily rituals such as mealtime or cleaning and stories about people living with dementia.

The book also contains tips on how to use color to highlight important things or organise the house to make it more accessible for people with dementia and their caregivers.

The aim of the authors is to improve the quality of life of people with dementia and encourage caregivers to create their own hacks that would suit their needs and fit their home.
