Guide for Business on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The UN Global Compact (UNGC) and the International Labour Office (ILO) have jointly developed a “Guide for business on the rights of persons with disabilities - How business can respect and support the rights of persons with disabilities and benefit from inclusion”.

The aim of the publication is to improve business’s understanding of the rights of persons with disabilities with the main audience being the wide range of business professionals whose functions may include human resources and facility management.

The guide is divided into two chapters. Chapter 1 details the rights of person with disabilities in the workplace, marketplace and community and explains how businesses may impact on them.

Chapter 2 focuses on the positive actions and measures companies can take to implement good practices within their own businesses.

As noted by the UNGC and the ILO the primary audience for this publication is business professionals working in a variety of functions within companies such as: human resources, procurement, sustainability, marketing, IT, and facilities management.
